Just a couple of weeks after 9/11 and the attacks in New York and Washington DC, as the political class was whipping up hysteria for a belligerent response, San Franciscans turned out at Dolores Park on September 29, 2001 to object. A population quite used to protesting war and militarism were ready with homemade signs and a will to mobilize in public. Here are some photos from that day. We await a first-hand account from anyone who was there.
